Discover the Giant of Willow Bunch – and Much More!
Did you know Willow Bunch was once home to a real-life giant? The Willow Bunch Museum features an entire exhibit dedicated to Édouard Beaupré, the legendary “Willow Bunch Giant,” complete with a life-sized replica so you can see how you measure up!
But that's just the beginning. The museum is housed in a beautifully preserved 1914 convent, originally built for the Sisters of the Cross. After outgrowing its first location in the former Union Hospital (closed in 1969), the museum moved into the convent in 1985. Designated a heritage site in 1986, the building still boasts many original features and offers a perfect setting for exploring local history.
The museum spans two floors with ten themed rooms, plus hallway exhibits and a local history room on the main floor. From fascinating artifacts to rotating displays, there’s always something new to discover with every visit.
The building is wheelchair accessible, making it easy for everyone to explore. Families will love the scavenger hunts, thoughtfully designed for all ages and skill levels - perfect for keeping kids (and adults) entertained for hours. A big shout-out to the staff for keeping the experience fresh, fun, and educational!
