Lumsden Museum

Historic buildings in the heart of Lumsden, Saskatchewan.

Lumsden & District Historical Museum is located in a scenic location beside the river and the railway in the center of town. 

The museum has five historic buildings: 

  • 1886 Forest Church
  • 1890 Tregarva Community Hall
  • Kedleston One-Room School
  • 1912 Hunter House
  • 1901 Edwards Log Cabin

There is also a Blacksmith Shop, Livery Barn, and an antique John Deere tractor display. The museum has cold water available and washrooms on site. They are open in July and August (Thursday to Sunday), and by appointment during the off-season. You can reach them via phone or through Facebook (yes, they will answer messages!).

  • Seasonal Hours: Open during the summer on Thursdays to Sundays, 11:00am to 4:00pm.  Off-season visits can be arranged by appointment
  • Admission: By donation
  • Accessibility: Family-friendly and accessible (one house does have stairs to the second floor but most buildings have wheelchair ramps. 
  • Tours: Guided tours are available for individuals or groups.
  • Pet Friendly: This museum is pet-friendly - feel free to bring your furry companion along!
