The Red Fox Valley Schoolhouse was built in 1882 with nearby fieldstones. The building inside measured 24 feet by 18 feet with a 12-foot high ceiling. In 1905, a vote was taken to build a new brick school in a more central location. The vote was 14 in favor and four against.
The brick school opened in 1909. The new building was 30 feet by 20 feet. It was a one-room school with the entrance door to the east end. It had two cloakrooms at the east end, one on the north for the boys and one on the south for the girls. There was a small table for the wash basin. One of the families in a buggy brought drinking water to school. Horses were stabled in the school barn. In 1935 the school was remodeled to add a basement under the school for a furnace and bathroom. The school was open from 1909 to 1934.
In 1963 the Red Fox Valley School consolidated with the Sintaluta school. The school closed and the children were taken by bus to Sintaluta. Today children are taken from Sintaluta to Indian Head.
The stone walls of the original schoolhouse still stand in a ruin state. The brick schoolhouse is gone, just foundations remain.
